Boubakr Nour is currently a Senior Security Researcher at Ericsson Research (Montreal, Canada), and an Affiliate Assistant Professor at Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering (CIISE), Concordia University (Montreal, Canada). He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) associated with Ericsson Montreal. Prior to that, Dr. Nour worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Université de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke, Canada). Dr. Nour received his Ph.D. in Computer Science & Technology from Beijing Institute of Technology (Beijing, China) in 2020. He received both M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees with distinction in Computer Science from Djillali Liabes University (Sidi Bel Abbes, Algeria), in 2016, and 2014 respectively. Also, he has been a visiting researcher at Paris Descartes University (Paris, France) in 2016.
Dr. Nour co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed research articles in international journals and conferences, co-invented 10 patent applications. His research interests include cybersecurity, threat hunting, 5G/6G security, Next-Generation Networking and Internet, and Internet of Things (IoT).
Dr. Nour received the Ericsson Key Contributor Award, Ericsson Impact Award, IEEE Communication Society Best Survey Paper Award in 2024, the Best Paper Award at the IEEE DSC 2024 and IEEE GLOBECOM 2018, and the Mitacs Elevate Fellowship in 2022. He is also the recipient of the Excellent Student Award at the Beijing Institute of Technology in 2017, 2018, and 2019, consecutively.
